This month we welcome back Paul Gillette to continue Part 2 of his saga of the James Brothers.
In this talk, we will follow the post-war career of Jesse and Frank James, and focus on how their Civil War experiences helped to shape their fortunes as America's most famous bandit duo. Included will be how their paths intertwined with such Civil War notables as Adelbert Ames and Alan Pinkerton.
Our speaker, Paul Gillette, is a founding member of the Civil War Round Table of Orange County and a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. During his time as Preservation Officer for the Orange County CWRT, he oversaw the fundraising and donation of thousands of dollars for battlefield preservation causes. He is co-author of "The Civil War Legacy of Santa Ana," and has been researching the Civil War veterans of Orange County since 1993. Mr. Gillette is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and has been employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years.
Please join us as we learn more about these infamous brothers.
